With summer just around the corner, festival season on Long Island is getting ready to heat up. The Great South Bay Music Festival has officially released its initial line-up on April 9, which includes some pretty big names for the small beachside festival.
Headlining the festival this year are Long Island pop-punks Taking Back Sunday, Great South Bay staples moe., and the legendary bluesman B.B. King. Joining them on the list are The Fabulous Thunderbirds, London Souls, Circa Survive, Nine Days, Scofflaws, Randy Jackson, and NGHBRS, among others.
Taking Back Sunday is currently on a co-headlining tour with The Used, which hits New York on April 15, 16, and 21. The band released their latest album, ‘Happiness Is…’ on March 18.
moe. will releasing a new album, ‘No Guts, No Glory,’ on May 27. They will be playing an album release show at Stage 48 in Manhattan on May 28.
Despite being 88 years old, B.B. King is still going strong and playing shows across the country this summer. King will be playing at Lehman Performing Arts Center in the Bronx on April 19.
Held at Shorefront Park in Patchogue, New York for the last eight years, the Great South Bay Music Festival celebrates music with an “American” theme. Over three days, the festival boasts four stages of rock, country, jazz, jam-bands, folk, and funk music, as well as a children’s area, wine and beer tasting, and a shopper’s village of handmade items.
The Great South Bay Music Festival runs from July 18 through July 20, 2014. Pre-sale tickets for the festival go on sale April 11.
More bands for the Great South Bay Music Festival will be announced soon. For more information on the Great South Bay Music Festival, visit the event’s website.
