For those in the Dunwoody/Atlanta Area who loves Hibachi, Sushi and pretty much anything Asian - this resturant should be at the top of your list to visit. Located right off of Ashford Dunwoody Rd in the Perimeter Business Shopping Center, You cant miss it. Taki is a family owned business started seven years ago with the first location in Hiram, GA. A year later, the second location was opened in Macon and three years later - the Atlanta location was opened in Dunwoody. The whole idea of Taki is to combine a great Hibachi and Sushi experience fused with a wide variety of contemporary Asian foods. The restaurant is broken into 2 Hibachi rooms (one holding up to 50 and a private room for 18-20 people), a large sushi bar, a main dining area, and a private dining room (great for company meetings holding 20-22 people).
Taki offers a fusion of Japanese, Chinese, French and Thai dished from its kitchen. This makes brings a great twist to things and allows them to offer more than the traditional hibachi and sushi. The foods are top notch as they have prided themselves in being a restaurant that offers more quality than quantity. Their Signature Dishes would include the "King of the Sea" and "Chili and Sea Bass"
A few signature dishes are listed below:
KING OF SEAS
King of seas is a combination of large shrimp, scallops and a lobster tail over a bed of asparagus and spinach in a lemon butter sauce. In my experience with restaurants, it is one of the best seafood dishes I’ve had. This is definitely at the top of my list and should be at the top of your list of things to try!
SUSHI AND SASHIMI
This is a chef choice order where the chef chooses sushi and sashimi to try in this dish. It is, yet again one of the best presented dishes ive seen and the sushi is truly amazing. It comes in a glass that glows blue from the bottom (as you can see in the images) and has a half and half selection of sushi and sashimi. Some to expect would be steamed octopus, tune, yellow tail, sea bass, white tuna and salmon.
Jalamachi
Jalamachi is fatty yellow tale, Serrano pepper and Tobiko (a type of caviar) over apples smothered in lemon oil. It is an amazing dish with a great taste with a small kick of spice.
