Takes 6 to be inducted in to Gospel Music Hall of Fame, Bobby Jones honored

Take 6 will take its place among gospel music royalty on April 29 in Nashville,TN as they are inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. The six gents will join fellow inductees the Gaither Vocal Band, Brown Bannister(Producer) and Rich Mullins.

Fusing jazz, gospel and R&B, the group united in song at Oakwood College in Alabama in 1980. The a cappella sextet's 20 year career has yielded major accolades and worldwide acclaim. With a collection of twelve Grammys, five Dove Awards, and one Soul Train Award to their credit, Since 1987, they have released 18 albums. In 2008 the group recorded "The Standard", their first take on jazz classics.Take 6 is held as one of the best vocal groups of our time and with the three Grammy nominations they earned from the success of "The Standard" they the distinct honor of being the most Grammy nominated vocal group in history.

Also, Dr. Bobby Jones is one of five 2014 GMA Honors recipients who will be recognized at the honors dinner. Jones is a past Hall of Fame inductee.
