Take to the skies in this new trailer for 'Mario Kart 8'

Nintendo held another Nintendo Direct this morning, which will probably be their final one for 2013. The last game shown during the North American presentation was Mario Kart 8, which had already been teased in a new Super Smash Bros. trailer. The latest trailer showed off some more of the game's returning characters, as well as several new stages.

The first new stage shown was a large airport level, in which players will have to navigate around a plane as it takes off into the sky. The gliders and anti-gravity karts allow for the track to twist and turn its way through the terminal and into the aircraft's flight plan. The next stage featured baby forms of Mario, Luigi, Peach and Daisy, making it feel reminiscent of Double Dash's “Baby Park”.

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a bit longer before Nintendo announces an exact release date, though Mario Kart 8 is still scheduled to launch during spring of 2014.
