Take the time to give: December 3 is Giving Day

See also

The Bible says, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35). Giving is important all the time, but it is especially important on Dec. 3.

Why is giving important on that day?

Dec. 3 has been designated as a day of giving.

This day is a good time to regroup from all the shopping you have probably done on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It is an opportune time to reflect on and embrace the upcoming holiday season.

Giving Day is a good time to give back to your community or support your favorite charities.

Charitable giving during the holidays began thousands of years ago, and it continues to be an important part of many families, churches, cultures and religions around the world.

These are some things you can do to celebrate Giving Tuesday:

  • You can donate to a non-profit organization.
  • You can also deliver some canned goods to your local food bank.
  • You can organize a neighborhood coat drive.
