Take the long way home

Sitting outside barefoot in green grass crickets chirping in the background, my scarf twined twice around my neck…What the heck I say. I never saw this coming… deep in the heart of the south, on a spontaneous whim, and twist of fate.

I feel like a character written in a WB Show, from LA to the South, love/life goes “Wrong” which turns out to be right for her soul, which she finds in the South. Every time going further, and breathing deeper.

You can’t find yourself in the paved roads the same way that you can in nature, you don’t get the same truth as you do from scooping up a handful of earth, from rolling around in fields of Dandelions and fragrant Star Jasmine, stretched out skies of blue with fluffy cumulous clouds… meow, says one of the neighborhood stray cats as she prances about, pressing her fur against your bare legs long enough to kick up a little star dust, a little love light to hold onto.

The stars shine brighter away from the city lights and you can see a deeper magic in sight.
Sometimes we have to “get lost and get right with our soul” says Rodney Atkins, and I agree with him. Something about stepping off the path, and taking the long way home... Like the secret space where awesome people go at Runyon Canyon. I won’t type the location in print as then, everyone will know and that’s one that you have to stumble upon on your own, and its where all the cool cats go.. why, because you have to veer off the beaten path to get there, you have to take the long way hOMe.

So that’s where it’s at, and that’s what we do Los Angeles, world… we veer out of whatever box or form that anyone has created and labeled for us, reminding ourselves that ONLY we choose who we are within each moment, we can remember we are whole divine, a heavenly being, and we can choose… being awesome… taking a back road… it may not be going all the way to the south to submerge in the tropical heat and mystic, but then again it may… or it might be taking a new class or telling the one that you love, that you love them, or your heart may be in many directions open, and you can give yourself permission to take that back road also, and ride the wave, jumping but not knowing your exact landing point. Sensuality without possession. Creating and releasing just for the sake of it.

And so! On a day like today, the legendary Marley’s Birthday none the less, freedom, love, peace advocate, musical genius, marijuana herbal enthusiast, beautiful soul, profit…. I raise a toast in the air to say let’s do this… less pollution more clean air, less litter, more trees.

We love honey, but we hate the bees? And dis’ I say, this makes no sense to me…. I invite you all friends this week and over the weekend, to take a back road, and let me know how it goes.
