Denim jeans are the most versatile piece of clothing in both men and women's wardrobes. They can be worn for dress or for casual depending on the shirt, blouse or sweater that they are paired with.
Taking place now through November 3, 2013, it is time to take on the Great Denim Challenge. This is the most publicized auction in the world of fashion. The BlueJeansGoGreen denim recycling program has collected nearly 1 million pieces of denim and they need your help to reach that major milestone. Through this celebrity autographed Jeans auction, each and every one of us can push the challenge to the limit. All denim collected through the program is recycled into UltraTouch™ Denim Insulation, and a portion of it is distributed to communities in need.
The rules are really quite simple. "Denim" is the currency of choice; denim apparel items to be exact. Your bid is the number of denim apparel items that you collect for recycling. You don't bid on a pair of celebrity jeans unless you can collect the number of denim apparel items equal to the bid. At the end of each auction, each of the highest bidders will be contacted to go through the next steps set forth.
Some of your favorite celebrities are up for taking on this fashion challenge. Adriana Lima, Dwyane Wade, Shenae Grimes, Andy Roddick, Hayden Panettiere, Stacy Keibler, Annasophia Robb, Heidi Klum, Britney Spears, Kellan Lutz, Brooklyn Decker, Kourtney Kardashian, Darren Criss and Ryan Phillippe are shedding their jeans for this unique opportunity.
BlueJeansGoGreen Denim Recycling has made such a huge impact across the nation. The program was started in 2006 and since then close to 2 million square feet of UltraTouch™ Denim Insulation has assisted with building efforts and helped to support Habitat For Humanity affiliates across the country. Cotton has also launched a Grant Program in 2010 for architects, contractors, builders and project developers to apply for grants of UltraTouch™ Denim Insulation for community-based green buildings.
Isn't it about time that you got involved? Bid on a pair of jeans worn by the celebrities. It has been tallied so far that 986,220 pieces of denim have been collected and 1643 pieces of denim are up for bid.
You can learn more at auction.bluejeansgogreen.org. You only have until November 3rd to put in your bid so don't waste any time taking the challenge.
