There is no bond like the bond between a father and a daughter
There is no bond like the bond between a father and a daughter

There is nothing like the relationship between a father and a daughter. When you have a father that can lead you through life appropriately and in a way that nurtures your being, what he’s really doing is giving you a successful road map to life.

As a survivor of a terribly abusive father and also the mother to four beautiful daughters, I know very well how important a good relationship between a father and a daughter is. It is something that needs to be nurtured and fed so that it grows into a mighty oak rather than starved and hurt. I lived most of my life as a sapling with not enough sun, water, or soil, which made it impossible to grow into the life I deserved. This life included a marriage to a man who blocked out the sun, and in turn my two oldest daughters suffered the price of a broken father-daughter bond both during our marriage, and after our divorce. They too struggled to find their footing and live a rich and healthy life.

Bestselling author and speaker Rick Johnson understands the importance of the father-daughter relationship, and his mission help men learn how to grow that bond has led to the creation of the Annual Father-Daughter Conference, designed for dads and their daughters (ages 12 and up) to attend together.

It wasn’t until after reading some of Rick’s books that I realized how important the father-daughter bond really is and how to immediately make changes in the lives of my children so they could start building those steps towards healthy relationships. The relationship my husband has with our children is a direct reflection of what a father-daughter bond in progress looks like. These changes have also given me more power to break the chains connecting me to the void of not having an appropriate father in my life. Because of this, I have begun to uncover the road map I should have gotten from my daddy.

Join Rick on Saturday, September 27th, 2014 for the Second Annual Father-Daughter Conference to be held from 8:30am to 2:30pm in Gaiser Hall at Clark College. Dads and their daughters will attend sessions together and separately, all designed to help mold and grow that bond, no matter what state your current relationship is in. It’s never too late to begin.

Some of the topics that will be covered in the 2nd Annual Father-Daughter Conference are:

The Power of the Father-Daughter Bond

Understanding Her/What Your Dad Can’t tell You

Communicating Effectively

Providing and Protecting/Dangers She Faces

The Father Blessing!
