All aviators know the expression “Take Flight” the Alaska Aviation Museum is inviting anyone interested in actually getting a taste of a different kind of flight, this Thursday night.

Called the “Take Flight Wine Tasting” the event will be held at museum board member Chuck Miller’s home in south Anchorage at 8724 Sahalee Dr Anchorage AK 99507 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Miller has devoted much of his time to helping the museum with the completion of the 1931 Fairchild Pilgrim and organized and flew his aircraft in this past summer’s Alaska Aviation Centennial Celebration.

This fundraiser is especially important to the museum according to executive director Shari Hart.

“The museum is raising funds for new signage to direct people to our location at Lake Hood,” said Hart. “While we understand that it is after the holidays and money is tight we are preparing for the upcoming tourist season and really need a more visible sign.”

The event promises good wines from vineyards from the west coast and abroad, and will be catered with appetizers specially prepared by AK Cuisine.

Tickets are $100 per person and each person will received a signature wine glass for taking part in the fundraiser according to Hart.
