Winter is not yet over but the thaw is coming along with lots of running and racing opportunities.
The weather looks good again for this weekend of March 15-16, 2014 so it should be a good opportunity to get out and go for a run on your own, participate in a local group run or sign up for one of the events this weekend.
Here are a few events this weekend:
Saturday, March 15, 10 a.m. 5k, 3rd Annual Michael Cassidy Shamrock "n" Run 5k, Rutherford, N.J.
Saturday, March 15, 10:00 a.m. 5K, KDM 5k, Sea Bright, N.J.
Sunday, March 16, 2 p.m. Highlands Guiness Run, Highlands, N.J. First runner to finish line with most liquid in their cup wins!
Sunday, March 16, 9 a.m. 5k, KEA Pot of Gold 5k, Kinnelon, N.J.
Sunday, March 16, 8:30 a.m. 3, 6, 10 plus miles, Sunday Hot Chocolate Run, Bodman Park, Middletown, N.J.
And sadly some local events have been cancelled. The Mom’s Rock Run scheduled for May 10, 2014 in Manasquan will not take place this year. And the long standing Jersey Shore Running Club’s Celtic Pride (formerly the St Patty’s Day 5k and Sgt. Pat’s Race) in Long Branch will also not be held this year.
It also last call this weekend for RunAPalooza as registration is set to close on March 19. The Team Relay is closed but there are still openings in the Individual Relay Marathon, Half Marathon and the 5K. Check the RunAPalooza Web Site for information and registration.
More upcoming events can be found on The Race Calendar.
