Today, April 4th, is National Walking Day.
Created by the American Heart Association, National Walking Day is always the 1st Wednesday of April. National Walking Day is an initiative to encourage people to walk at least 30 minutes a day. According to the Heart Association, walking just 30 minutes a day can reduce your risk of heart disease.
Many of you will say that you do not have the time to spare. But if you think about it - 30 minutes is less that 2% of your day. Take a walk at lunch; the next time you are at a store park further away from the door; or grab your family and take a stroll after dinner.
Just 30 minutes a day can make a difference, and I encourage you today, and every day, to make the time for a walk.
