If you like tribute shows, check out the BeatleShow! at the Saxe Theater at Planet Hollywood.
The Fab Four look-alikes take the audience (mostly of Beatles-era age) on a 75-minute musical journey that begins with an introduction by a humorous Ed Sullivan copycat (who later appears as Austin Powers.) Three costume changes take the audience from the mop tops’ introduction to the U.S. to their magical-mystery-tour years and on. During one poignant number, following original film clips announcing John Lennon’s death, Steve Craig, the Lennon look-alike, appears on stage alone in a white suit. Seated at a white piano he sings “Imagine.”
The musicians sing live and play their own music. The audience is encouraged to join in. The theater is intimate so you’re guaranteed a good seat. To help maintain the illusion don’t sit too close. Plus, when sitting in one of the front rows you may find John, Paul or George blocking your line of sight to Ringo.
There’s a bar outside the theater, but don’t ask for a glass of water. They won’t give it to you. The bartender, however, will sell you a non-eco-friendly plastic bottle of water. The good news is you are allowed in with your own reusable water bottle. There are also cocktail servers inside the theater.
Tickets at are $59.99 for general admission and $69.99 for VIP seating. Use your favorite search engine to find discount tickets online.
