Enjoy the outdoor freshness and catch sight of Western tanagers, Red-shafted flickers and other seasonal and resident birds on an interpretive walk at The Nature Conservancy’s Hassayampa River Preserve from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 28.
A naturalist docent will share insights on birds, plants and riparian ecology during an easy walk along the preserve's spectacular streamside trails.
After the walk participants canviewinterpretive displays housed in the 1860s-era Frederick Brill ranch headquarters, enjoy the newly revitalized native plant garden, or independently explore additional trails.

The preserve is open to the public 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. Admission fees are $5 per person, $3 for Conservancy members. Kids under 12 and Friends of the Hassayampa membersare free.
The 730-acre Hassayampa River Preserve is located on Highway 60 three miles southeast of Wickenburg at milepost 114. It was created in 1987 to protect a rare desert cottonwood/willow streamside habitat that attracts more than 280 species of birds annually and supports diverse plant and animal communities.
