Take a day off from cooking

I have a 5 week old in the house. What is cooking?
So, as we have been (heavily) partaking of some local carryout options, I thought I would take an article off cooking and share some of my favorite Deer Park offerings with you.

Kashmir – the BEST Indian restaurant in town. We have been ordering from here for literally years. And every single time, the owner takes our order, doesn’t give us a price or a time, just says “See you then.” 10-15 minutes later, I have my Saag Paneer, Neil his Chicken Curry and the kids their Channa Masala - and all is good with the world. I ate so much of this while I was pregnant I half expected my child to come out tinged a nice shade of turmeric. Not to worry…didn’t happen.

Café Lou Lou – a great option in the Highlands or St. Matthews. Even better because they also offer delivery at both locations.

Zaytun – Honestly, their falafel is the best I have ever had. I don’t know what they do to make it fluffy, but it definitely works. Even my kids will eat it. With three different options for hummus, there’s something for everyone. And my son is a big fan of the HUGE orders of fries they serve up – seasoned or plain.

Tony BoomBozz – One of the few pizza joints in town to offer a whole wheat crust option, Tony Boom Bozz quickly became our preferred pie carry out place. They have a large selection of gourmet pizzas and the Chicken Barbeque always satisfies the two little appetites in my house. The salads are enormous – big enough to share.

Za’s – OK, so maybe it seems a little redundant to list another pizza place, but IT’S ZA’S! When you just need an ooey-gooey stringy cheese covered comfort food kind of pizza, there is no better option. And they also offer whole wheat! They even manage to chop the zucchini and summer squash so small on the veggie pizza to convince my kids not to wrinkle up their noses when they take a bite.
