Take a bite out of this - El Centro Culinary College is a major foodie event (Photos)

From pastries to appetizers and entrees to breads, "Bits and Bites" promises a buffet of tasty delights.

The annual event organized and presented by the El Centro College Food and Hospitality Institute from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2013, features the culinary creations of the area's best chefs.

More than 150 accomplished chefs in the Dallas area received their formal training at the Food and Hospitality Institute at El Centro College.

In the male-dominated world of cooking, two women and alumni of the program will be honored for their accomplishments: Dunia Borga head pastry chef and co-owner of La Dunia restaurants and Shari Carlson chef and co-owner of Dessert Dreams.

Today’s culinary students are tomorrow’s chefs. This culinary event is to raise funds to help expand kitchen facilities for El Centro’s program.
