Here’s a two-for: join the Save Mount Diablo’s 42nd annual Mount Diablo Challenge and help save the land. On October 6, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. 1,000 cycling enthusiasts will compete for prizes during a heart-pounding ride along either the 11.2 mile timed ride climbing 3,249 feet to Mount Diablo’s summit or the 6.5 mile ride with a 1,578 elevation gain. Following the run there will be a fun family-friend summit party with food and beverages.
The race begins at Athenian School, 2100 Alameda Diablo, Danville, California with registration required for $75 a person prior to September 16, 2013 and $90 after. You can cycle a half course for $345 or $60. Sign on at Mount Diablo Challenge before October 3, 2013.
