Taiwanese UFO group releases 'transparent alien' photo

A UFO hunting group in Taiwan has caused a media sensation after publishing a photo of a "transparent alien" walking along a remote country road.

What is it?

Actually, that's the question which The Taiwan UFOlogy Society (TUFOS) is asking photographic experts to answer.

According to an article published by the International Business Times on Jan. 3, 2013, the picture was taken by a policeman at Jiaming Lake in Taitung County, using an iPhone. In it, a strange, human-like figure can be seen, apparently walking, in the distance.

The figure is stooped, relatively large, and, seemingly, completely see-through.

TUFOS is asking digital experts to examine the photo because one authority believes the image has not been tampered with.

"(I)t does not appear to be an edited photo," said Chien Jung-tai, an image processing expert. But, he does add that "it could have been affected by a leftover image in the memory card of the camera," asking that "experts in optical imaging technology for flash memory devices should look into the image."

Taiwan media outlets have been covering the story, as seen in the video published here. Of course, the commentary is in Chinese, but the message still manages to come across.

What (or who) is it?

What do you think? Is this a real photo of an alien?
