The first and only Taiko drumming studio in Southern California is opening in Long Beach! Check out their open house on Saturday, November 14 from noon to 5pm. The new studio will provide a place for workshops, classes, and, of course, performances. Classes will be offered for drummers of all skill levels and ages.
TAIKOPROJECT launched a fundraising campaign to turn a Long Beach warehouse into their new 3,000 square foot facility. They are located at 1351 Loma Ave., between PCH & Anaheim.
All events during the Open House are free to the public. Try out taiko drumming for yourself in one of
a free introductory workshops throughout the day for kids and adults, see TAIKOPROJECT perform, meet the teachers, and learn all about taiko. Parking is available in the adjacent lot north of the building.
Taiko is a fun and energetic activity that adults and kids of all ages that combines rhythm, aerobics, movement, calisthenics, and strength. TAIKOPROJECT is dedicated to teaching the next generation of taiko drummers. The new studio will serve as an education center and be the centerpoint for taiko drummers from all over the US.

TAIKOPROJECT is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and advancing the American art of taiko. They are the only American taiko group to compete in and win first place in the prestigious Tokyo International Taiko Contest (2005). They have performed on the 2009 Academy Awards show and in recordings for Kanye West.
