Tahoe Ski Resort - still great spring skiing before closing

See also

It’s been a weird year for the Ski Resorts in Tahoe – some early widespread November snow then a respectable storm in early December. But then virtually nothing the rest of the month and all through January. February brought some heavy snowfall and then finally, late March and early April saw over five feet of snow to the resorts, much of which is still around. In general, the Tahoe resorts received a bit more than half the average level of snowfall; it’s a very good thing the resorts have such fine snowmaking capabilities. Right now, Tahoe skiing is about as good as it’s been all season, with gorgeous spring conditions prevailing. So get out there one more time.

Alpine Meadows - Open seven days a week through April 20 then weekends into May (conditions permitting). Base of 71” at the top, 25” at the bottom. Season to date snow totals 227”.

Boreal - Last day open is Easter Sunday, April 20. 109” base. Season to date snow total of 297”. They will also be having an Easter Egg hunt this Sunday.

Diamond Peak – closed for the season.

Heavenly - Last day open is Easter Sunday, April 20. 46” base at the top, 30” at the bottom. Season to date snow total of 176”.

Homewood - Closed for the 2013-14 season

Kirkwood - Last day open is scheduled for Sunday, April 27. Base of 65” at the top, 53” at the bottom. 375” season to date snow totals. Kirkwood once again leads the way with the greatest snowfall total of the Tahoe resorts justifying its slogan

Mt. Rose – Last day open is Easter Sunday, April 20. Season to date snow total of 133”. 32” of snow at the top and 17” at the bottom. Mt. Rose will be having a fun Burning Man festival of sorts this Saturday, April 19th with people showing up in “Burning Man regalia” getting discounted lift tickets. Mojo Green will be performing.

Northstar - Last day open is Easter Sunday, April 20 Base of 52” at the top, 18” at the bottom. Season to date snow totals of 200”. Don’t miss the excellent Backyard Bar & BBQ restaurant for lunch. Located at the Ritz-Carlton mid-mountain, it’s a gorgeous spot and offers the best smoked brisket in Northern California. Trust me.

Sierra-at-Tahoe - Last day open is Easter Sunday, April 20. It has a base of 77” at the top and 30” at the bottom. Season to date snow totals of 278”.

Squaw Valley – Last day open is scheduled for Sunday, April 27. Base of 64” snow at the top and 18” at the bottom. Season to date snow total of 265”.

Sugar Bowl - Last day open is Easter Sunday, April 20. Base of 76” at the top and 20” at the bottom. Season to date snow total of 285”.

The roads are open so it's easy to up and ski or board - one more day this season. See you there!
