Tahoe ready for epic 3 day ski weekend

Tahoe ski resorts are more than ready for an epic 3 day weekend of skiing. The new snow, with the promise of more overnight on Sunday, has opened up a fantastic amount of new skiing opportunities at the resorts.

Steve Hemphill, who handles PR at Sierra-at-Tahoe, said yesterday "We are 100% open. The coverage is great, and we are ready for this holiday weekend." The conditions, he said, were absolutely wonderful. Pick up their 3 Pak for great savings on 3 days of skiing.

Mt. Rose has opened up new territory, and is offering some rather nice deals on lift tickets. Here is what they are offering during their Snow and Skate week, February 18-21, according to a press release today, February 14:

TWO 'FER TUESDAYS: 2 Adult all-day lift tickets for the price of one. Valid Tuesdays only

OVER THE HILL WEDNESDAYS: $39 lift tickets online for ages 50+ ($44 at resort)

LADIES DAY THURSDAYS: $29 lift tickets for ladies online ($34 at resort)
Valid Thursdays only

COLLEGE FRIDAYS: $39 lift tickets for college students online ($44 at resort). Valid Fridays only and must present college ID at resort to get deal

Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are offering a Tahoe Super Four package that will save from $16 to $26 a day off lift ticket prices. Staying at The Village at Squaw Valley, or at Alpine, is a great experience, especially with new snow just outside your door.

Northstar has value packs too. In addition to the skiing packages, they have lodging/skiing packages. Wouldn't it be great to wake up to new snow, and be right there to take advantage of it?

Homewood opened new terrain, Tahoe Donner re-opened, and Donner Ski Ranch was able to spin the lifts for the first time this season. Kirkwood opened the Backside. Great new snow is what it takes, and everyone got 4 feet or more.

Check out the deals and conditions at your favorite ski haven, then head up the hill for a weekend of skiing or riding.
