Iaorana (hello in Tahiti), this just in. The Tahiti Tourisme is launching its first travel app for Android and Apple mobile users, putting its Polynesian paradises in the palm of your hand. The free download contains maps and information that you can click on without signing onto the Internet. To save time and money, download the app before you fly to the islands.
You will also be able to share photos and comments right from French Polynesia. However if you there’s no Internet access it actually stores your data for you to share later when there is.
For more information and to download the app, search Tahiti Tourisme in the App Store or Play Store or scan the QR code.
Flights to Tahiti from the US Mainland often connect in Los Angeles from where it takes about eight hours to reach your Eden-like destination. Tahiti is halfway between California and Australia, on the same side of the International Date Line as North America and in the same time zone as Hawaii. The archipelago includes 118 islands and atolls each with a distinctive personality and landscape.
What's to love about French Polynesia:
- The French food that’s expensive and worth it.
- The beautiful, friendly people.
- Tropical climate.
- Crystal clear lagoons that are ideal for snorkeling and swimming, but do wear reef walkers as there is coral and sea urchin abound, as do water snakes.
