Did you know that between July 4th and July 6th, there is a 30% increase in the number of lost pets in this country?

Another fact is more pets run away on the 4th of July than any day of the year.

Between loud parties, blaring music and firework exploding, I don't blame our family pets for being confused and scared.

There is one simple device that could keep Fido safe and in the event he or she would run away or get lost, it would allow us as pet owners to track their every move.

It's the Tagg Pet Tracker. The Tagg Pet Tracker is a simple GPS device that attaches to your dog's collar and when paired with the Pet Tracker, a free Android or iOS mobile app it allows pet owners to stay in touch with your pet.

Locate your dog on a map, track their movements and get directions to his current location. Also, right on your mobile device, you can locate pet stores and vets that you may need ot have handy in the event of an emergency.

Some other facts you need to know, per Tagg:

- July 5th Is the busiest day of the year for animal shelters nationwide
- Only 26% of dogs are returned to their owners
- Over 30% of pets are euthanized annually

It's all done right on your smartphone.

It's easy to set up and you can create your very own Tagg zone. A Tagg zone is the area where your dog spends most of his time. When a dog isn't in his zone, or where he is supposed to be, you will now know.

You can get the Pettracker on www.pettracker.com.
