Tagalog Christian services begin in Natomas

Tagalog-speaking residents of north Sacramento now have another choice when it comes to Christ-centered Christian fellowships. In an effort to reach non-English speaking Filipinos with the good news of God’s love, Calvary Chapel Natomas is now offering a weekly church service on Sunday afternoons at 3:00 pm. Meeting at the church’s newly remodeled facility at 4007 N. Freeway Blvd in Natomas, there is plenty of room to accommodate the growth anticipated as a result of this targeted outreach.

While the Filipino American community is the second largest Asian American group in the United States, roughly 40,000 reside in the Sacramento area. The goal of Calvary Chapel Natomas is that the word of God might be heard, understood, and received by this specific population of Sacramento residents. And according to Gerard Silverio, the lay pastor who leads the service, “There's always food. What can I say? Sharing a meal after a church service is just part of the culture.”
