According to The Miami Herald, officials say someone opened fire at Taft High School in Kern County, California this morning around 9 a.m. The suspect shot and jnjured at least two people.
While it's unclear right now who the shooter was, KERO-TV reports the suspect has been taken into police custody.
Students were evacuated to the football field. Parents were notified and asked to pick up their children.
Right now, deputies from the Kern County Sheriff's Department are going through the school door-by-door to make sure the building is secure.
Taft is a city of about 9,000 located about 30 miles southwest of Bakersfield and about 120 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
