Across the city of Tacoma you will find that some areas are great, some are bad and some are left being in between. The 1300 block of Sixth Avenue is one of those in between places and after yesterday’s shooting some are a little nervous about the area all together. Kiro reported that it was about 2 p.m. on December 8, 2013 when emergency crews were dispatched to the area in search of a man who had been shot in the neck.
The Tacoma police have said that the man was shot in the neck near the Salvation Army that is near the corner of Sixth Avenue and South Cushman Avenue. After being shot in the neck the man ran to a nearby apartment complex in search of help. He was taken to Tacoma General hospital after the emergency personnel arrived at the scene but his current condition is not known.
According to Tacoma police spokeswoman, Loretta Cool, the police do not have any suspect information that can be released. As fear in the normally quiet Sixth Avenue neighborhood rises this leaves many people wondering if there is a suspect or if the Tacoma police are just not releasing the information to the public. One thing that you can be sure of though is that somewhere in Tacoma there is a dangerous criminal that may have intended to kill the man that was shot in the neck.
