Local Houston animal lovers have been feeding this poor dog for several days. In fact, this article had been started as the locals were trying to organize a chip in fund to get her to rescue and boarding.
The dog was skittish, but one rescuer was able to place a plate of food very near by and the dog was beginning to trust her. The rescuer believed she would be able to get a leash and collar on the dog.
Over the past week or so, the rescuer noticed this poor dog’s nipples dragging the ground. At first, it was suspected that the dog had just had puppies, but upon closer inspection, surmised that her milk had dried and she was trying to regain her strength by eating anything she cold find.
Since the dog was hanging around Houston’s east side Taco Bell begging for old gordita scraps, the group suggested naming her Mirabella. The minute she was given her new name, Taco Bell called the county pound to haul her away.
Harris County Animal Control jurisdiction is outside the actual city of Houston which manages all animals through BARC or Bureau of Animal Regulation and Control. Mirabella was lucky, in a sense. She fell into the Harris County Animal Control. Even though Taco Bell sent her to a very high kill county shelter that only releases pit bulls to their owners or approved rescue groups, the shelter will try to help her.
Mirabella’s ID # is A345678. At this writing, she is still in transit with the animal control officer dispatched when Taco Bell called to have her impounded.
Mirabella will have three days for her advocates to organize a chip in fund to have her spayed and vetted, then boarded or rescued.
Please consider sharing Mirabella’s story and making a small donation to help save this one dog.

If only Taco Bell had waited another day or two to have this poor dog hauled away, her advocates could have raised enough to get her to safety and prepare her for adoption to a qualifed family.
Ironically, Taco Bell made a fortune from exploiting one dog. How quick they were to do away with Mirabella who was just trying to keep herself alive on the east side of Houston.
Please help save Mirabella.
