Taco Bell Doritos chips are coming to stores very soon. According to a report from Thursday (Jan. 31), the marriage between Taco Bell and Doritos is about to be taken to the next level. For a while now, Taco Bell has been serving taco shells made out of Doritos and apparently that idea was big enough for the two companies to release another product.
This spring (2013), Doritos is going to roll out the new "Taco Bell" flavor as a limited offering. If it catches on, though, they might stick around a lot longer than that. This is a clear signal that the Doritos Locos Tacos on the Taco Bell menu have been a huge success and that the dual-brand release has benefited both companies.
An exact release date for the new flavor of chips has not yet been revealed, but the early announcement was probably just to get the buzz going. It is already being talked about a lot on social media, with consumers taking to Facebook to announce that they are excited to try the new chips.
The new Taco Bell Doritos chips probably appeal to a select demographic of customers, so the company is being cautious about the limited release. Like most limited product releases, though, it could go wider if customers end up liking the chips.
