Table 128 to host a second Vom Fass Scotch Dinner on April 13

Table 128 Bistro and Bar's first Vom Fass Scotch Dinner on March 9 was such a big success that they decided to hold a second one. The Clive restaurant will team with Vom Fass for a second scotch dinner on April 13. The dinner will have two seatings, one at 6:30 p.m. and one at 7:15 p.m. Reservations are required, and they may be made by calling the restaurant at (515) 327-7427 or e-mailing GM Sarah Pritchard at The dinner will be $56 per person (plus tax and gratuity).

Table 128's Chef Lynn A. Pritchard and Melissa Bartholomew of Vom Fass have collaborated on a similar four-course menu to their March 9 dinner, complete with the same single-malt scotch pairings. Here is a look:

Course 1

Risotto Croquette (caramelized onion, frisee and micro green salad, quail egg diavolo, and parmesan tuile)

Scotch Pairing: Auchentoshan

Course 2

Shellfish Study (raw scallop salad, seared scallop, smoked oysters, brown butter mac and cheese, apple confit)

Scotch Pairing: Glen Ord

Course 3

Roast Lamb (apple fennel roast chestnut slaw, potato puree, smoky lamb demi)

Scotch Pairing: Bowmore

Course 4

Almond Financier (sugar, almonds, eggs, sautéed pear, salted almond ice cream, almond brittle)

Scotch Pairing: Glen Elgin
