Louisiana guitarist Tab Benoit brings his Cajun flavored rocking, funky blues to the Birchmere Concert Hall in Alexandria on Wednesday February 13, 2013 at 7:30 PM. If you haven’t heard of Tab Benoit but you like guitar driven blues buy a ticket you won’t be disappointed. Several years ago I was at Jazz Fest in New Orleans and a friend of mine took me to the blues tent to see him and I have been hooked ever since.
Tab Benoit has put out over 145 albums between his solo career and his Voices of Wetlands side project. The 45 year old songwriter has been inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. In 2007 he won the B.B. King Award for Blues Entertainer of the Year and he also won Best Contemporary Male Performer at the Blues Music awards. Tab has also been nominated for a Grammy Award. Tab Benoit will certainly rock the concert hall with his worn Fender Telecaster and his band. He will give the crowd a dose of his blues medicine and the Birchmere crowd will feel Benoit’s blues.
