T-Yanks announce new coaching staff for 2014

The Tampa Yankees have officially announced their 2014 coaching staff. This upcoming season will be the 20th Anniversary for the Yanks and all goals are set in hopes of bringing home another Florida State League Championship!

Al Pedrique will be taking over managerial duties for the Tampa Yankees. Hailing originally from Venezuela, Pedrique played Major League ball with the PIttsburgh Pirates after being drafted in 1978. He then played for the Mets and Tigers until 1989. He is quite experienced in coaching and managing as he has spent the last 19 years doing so. His managing experience includes the following:

2000-2002: Minor League Manager for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Houston Astros and Kansas City Royals

2003: Third Base Coach for the Diamondbacks

2004: Manager of Diamondbacks Triple-A Affiliate

2004: Interim Manager for Arizona

2005-2007: Special Assistant of General Mgr. for Houston Astros

2008-2009: Minor League Field Coordinator for the Houston Astros

2010-2011: Bench Coach for the Houston Astros

2013: Manager Single-A Charleston RiverDogs

With a vast coaching resume, Pedrique is sure to bring the necessary boost the T-Yanks need to get back on top of the FSL.

Danny Borrell will be taking over as the Pitching Coach for the Tampa Yankees. He has previously been the rehabilitation pitching coach for both the Staten Island Yankees and the Charleston RiverDogs.

PJ Pilittere will now be the hitting coach. Pilittere was originally drafted by the Yankees in the 2004 MLB Draft and spent eight seasons with the Yankees' Organization. In 2012 he made his first coaching appearance with the GCL Yankees and then was the hitting coach for the RiverDogs in 2013.

JD Closser has previously been a coach with the USA Baseball National Tam Development Programs. This will be his first position on the coaching staff as coach for the T-Yanks. He was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 1998 MLB Draft.

Michael Becker will now be the new Trainer with Tampa after working with the Staten Island Yankees in the 2012 season and Class A Charleston RiverDogs in 2013.

Joe Siara is a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the T-Yanks after joining the Yankees' Organization in 2013 working with the Staten Island Yankees.
