Today, T-Mobile announced that they will start accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 5. The news that we can pre-order our iPhone comes 2 weeks after T-Mobile finally set a date about the iPhone finally coming to the Bellevue-based company. After putting in your pre-order you will able to pick up your iPhone 5, at your local T-Mobile store, for a down payment of $99.99 and 20 dollars a month for 24 months.
“This is an important day for people who love their iPhone but can’t stand the pain other carriers put them through to own one,” said John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile USA. “We feel their pain. I’ve felt the pain. So we’re rewriting the rules of wireless to provide a radically simple, affordable iPhone 5 experience — on an extremely powerful network.
For over 3 years now there have been rumors giving hope to T-Mobile customers telling them that soon they will be able to get there own iPhone. With everyone of these rumor we get are hopes up that this time it will finally come true. Then those hopes are dashed when the appointed time passes and we hear those words maybe next year. Those days of hearing maybe next year are over with an April 12, 2013 date finally being set for the release date.
Along with the iPhone 5, T-Mobile customers will also be able to get an iPhone 4s for 30 dollars less at $69.99 down and 20 dollars a month for 24 months. If you don't want to pay that much down and are willing to start with an iPhone 4 then you will only need a $14.99 down payment and only 15 dollars a month for 24 months.
In other news at T-Mobile that may just be a coincidence is that the word T-Mobile will get the iPhone 5 came one day after the Bellevue-based company announced their merger with MetroPCS will be finalized on the same day they receive the iPhone. A couple of days after both the merge and iPhone dates there was news that the merger might be in danger of not happening on schedule.
