T-Mobile aims to sell Blackberry Z10 ahead of major competitors

T-Mobile has announced that it plans to be the first major cell retailer to carry the brand new Blackberry Z10 ahead of the release of Verizon and AT&T. The device was announced at Blackberry's, formerly Research in Motion, launch event at the end of January. Since then the major carriers have announced that it will be available mid March but have yet to provide an exact date.

Verizon is currently allowing customers to sign up for email updates via the website for latest release news. AT&T has also currently remained mum, which is allowing T-Mobile the slight opportunity to sneak in there and beat both retailers to the punch. The phone will reportedly retail for $199 at all three retailers.

In addition to carrying the new Blackberry, T-Mobile will be starting to carry the Apple Iphone sometime this year. The changes seem to mark the carriers game plan to become more of a competitor to AT&T and Verizon.

Carrying the new Blackberry should boost sales for T-Mobile. The smartphone is reportedly selling well in the U.K. although Blackberry announced that it will not offer the new handheld device in Japan.

Do you think selling the new Blackberry early will boost T-Mobile sales?
