Tammy "Sunny" Sytch appeared in a Connecticut court today to answer charges she again violated an order of protection by going to the home of former fiance Damien Darling.
Sytch, teary eyed and looking disheveled appeared along with her attorney Rob Serafinowicz and both tried to put the blame for this most recent arrest on the shoulders of Darling. According to testimony Serafinowicz said that Darling had "lured" Sytch to his residence and since Sytch did not have transportation Darling had gone and picked up the former WWE Diva and brought her back to his home.
Testimony revealed that Darling had allegedly brought Sytch back to his home and then gave her an engagement ring and asked her to move back in with him so they “could begin their life together.” Sytch chimed in when reminded that with an order of protection still in place she cannot acquiesce and return to where she is barred from even if the complainant (Darling) "allows" her to do so.
“I don’t think it’s fair to me. I was the one abused,” Stych told the judge.
Branford Police Captain Geoff Morgan told the court and Examiner.com that Sytch had filed a complaint alleging abuse at the hands of Darling. While in custody Sytch complained of problems breathing and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. Darling had taken to Facebook to refute claims that any investigation had been sought saying that he personally went to the Branford Police, something Serafinowicz says "was a play on his (Darling) part to remove any criminal liability."
Sytch told the judge she had taken to alcohol and self-medicated the morning after the alleged assault by Darling. Serafinowicz has asked the court to see that Sytch receive a psychiatric evaluation to get to the root of her mental instability. Sytch just completed a second stint in rehab earlier in January where she was treated for alcohol addiction and mental health issues including bi-polar disorder.
This makes the sixth arrest for Sytch and according to police reports she was found hiding in a shower when arrested this latest time. Police reports indicate Sytch was drunk at the time of many of her arrests and using UFC style choke holds on Darling.
Sytch was remanded on $100,000 bail and warned by the judge not to return to the home of Darling when/if she is again released. “After what I just went through, I won’t go back." Sytch told the judge.
In an unfunny and quite morbid twist to this already sad case, Sytch has seen her name listed or suggested on a number of the ominous "death lists." The lists rank any number of celebrities, athletes, politicians and notable figures and their probability of passing away during the course of the year.
There has been no comment from the WWE, where Sytch was one of the most popular Diva's in their history, on whether they will continue to support and offer assistance. The WWE has paid for the last two stays in rehab for Sytch and the company has a history of standing behind current and former wrestlers and wrestling performers who are in need of drug and alcohol rehabilitation including paying over $150,000 for treatment for Scott Hall.
