All of the fan favorites returned for the season finale of “So You Think You Can Dance” on Tuesday night, including the top 20 of season 10, guest judges Paula Abdul and returning all-stars, however the episode was interrupted and many are unaware who emerged as victors.
Four dancers remained, Fik-Shun, Amy, Aaron and Jasmine, who awaited their fate during the SYTYCD finale. To add drama and suspense, as is the fashion, “So You Think You Can Dance” filled airtime with the best dances, judges and finalists' picks, including a selection from host Cat Deeley, as well as memorable moments from the season, but nothing compared to an interruption from President Obama’s speech, which paused the show's results.
Many viewers from the East Coast missed Cat's enthusiastic announcement that declared Amy and Fik-Shun the SYTYCD winners, as recording devices didn’t pick up where the show left off. Nor were the champions listed on the FOX website earlier today, however, they are now and the site does mention that a re-air date of the season finale is programmed for Friday, September 13.
Social media rumors have acknowledged Fik-Shun Stegall and Amy Yakima the SYTYCD recipients of over $100,000 each and Dance Spirit Magazine cover-stars, along with the coveted title of America’s favorite male and female dancers of season 10.
“So You Think You Can Dance” will return to FOX in 2014 with season 11.
