President Obama announced today that the United States should take military action against Syria. The President, speaking from the Rose Garden, stated that he would seek congressional approval prior to ordering any action; according to WTVR Richmond.
Secretary of State John Kerry stated that the US could say with high confidence that Syrian President Assad had used chemical weapons to kill men, women, and children; according to NBC News. Kerry went on to say that the US had a moral obligation to respond.
Several outlets, include the Journal Democrat, are reporting that republicans and democrats are divided on the issue of Syria. Some lawmakers prefer that the United States take no action at all; most prefer that any action be taken only after congressional approval is given.
Christians are equally divided on the subject of Syria.
Those who do not support intervention say that the Holy Bible teaches that God will repay, and that the government should get out of the business of playing God around the globe.
Those supporting intervention say that the Holy Bible teaches that anyone who knows what is good and does not do it; sins.
