The current Syria issue will affect air travel. Anyone who says otherwise is living in a vacuum. Everything the U.S. does effects how TSA reviews those coming in and leaving the USA, along with what flights go where. There will be increased security.
The airlines are still dependent on fuel, and have to fuel up where ever they go. It is ignorant of many to believe that getting into a fight with Syria will not impact the U.S. gas prices.... because it will. The United States may have cut back in fuel consumption, but that does not mean prices will remain where they are.
It has been proven by history repeatedly that as the middle east raises their prices, the prices in the USA go up...even when the USA had a stock pile of fuel to use. It is a case of economics, someone was going to make a profit, either way.
So, on your next flight, be prepared to pay more for that ticket...and make sure not to have any tissue in your pocket...or you will be in for a smack down.
