How long has it been since we had a president that really cared about the people beyond political aspirations?
I think president Obama can be counted among the Few presidents of our great nation that are true father's of our country. Washington, Lincoln, and Roosevelt! Yes, I said fathers! A father truly does what is best for his children and follows a right path. Our Commander in Chief, President Obama, has made a giant step in restoration of the checks and balances of our government order. By requesting congressional approval for an attack in Syria he has harkened to the voice of the people.
Many politicians are squawking about this decision. These politicians don't view the presidency as an arm of the people, they view it as a seat of power. We are not a monarchy, we are a country ruled by the people for the people. These unruly politicians fear they are losing a one man rule. President Obama has stood up for the American system of truth and justice for all! We can all be proud of our President. What does it matter if Syria has to wait, trembling? In another article, by Mark Sappenfield; http://news.yahoo.com/congress-split-does-syria-strike-delay-obama-weak-.... "Obama himself has said that any US strikes against Syria would not be "open ended" and would not include "boots on the ground." So in turning to Congress, he has reversed a 30-year trend in Washington power politics, perhaps with lasting effect."Yes he has given back the congressional power to oversee the military use of power. This should be seen as a win for all the world. It is not a weakening of presidential power it is in fact a strengthening of our nations power.
Israel is another country gloating over their alliance with America. Israel is actually careless with our alliance. boasting and bragging instead of negotiating fairly and justly with neighboring countries in duspute. Israel now wants to throw a tantrum because our country, America, has chosen to think before we strike. The article by Jeffrey Heller and Angus McDowall; http://news.yahoo.com/insight-obama-blinks-syria-israel-saudis-common-ca.... Shows how impatient and untrusting Israel is of their U.S. relations.
"Israel's state-run Army Radio was more explicit: "If Obama is hesitating on the matter of Syria," it said, "Then clearly on the question of attacking Iran, a move that is expected to be far more complicated, Obama will hesitate much more - and thus the chances Israel will have to act alone have increased."
Israelis contrast the "red line" Netanyahu has set for how close Iran may come to nuclear weapons capability before Israel strikes with Obama's "red line" on Assad's use of chemical weapons - seemingly passed without U.S. military action so far."
Politicians clamor over a decision to militarily attack Syria is already showing signs of an out of control political congress. What will they do with these debates? Will they use them to showcase their own agendas? Or, will it be a partisan display of playground bullies, squaring off in shamed selfishness. The Syrian people need real answers to the atrocities they have lived. Our congress needs to play fair and look to the importance of the roles they serve. Selflessly protecting both their constituency and Syria's people, all factions. America has a large responsibility as a watchdog. America can't just go around blowing things up because a few say so! It must wield an honor in approaching independent nations with liberty and justice. I am celebrating this Labor Day with a renewed faith in the maturity and justice of our great nation. President Obama has listened to the people of America and has restored the checks and balances designed by the founding fathers. He has requested a congressional debate over the importance of declaring a safe and just world where children aren't killed by chemical weapons and watchdogs have integrity over their powerful positions. We can all be proud of our Commander in Chief, President Obama has show true leadership.
