ORANGE TO HOST GREYHOUNDS NOVEMBER 25

Syracuse University announced a date in the Carrier Dome against the Loyola Greyhounds (Md.) taking place on November 25th. It will be the first time the teams have met on the hardwood.

Loyola was 11-19 last season and are coached by G.G. Smith, the son of Texas Tech Coach Tubby Smith. This is his second season as head coach with Loyola. He was previously an assistant with the Greyhounds before being named head coach in April of 2013.

Deposits for 2014-15 Men's Basketball season tickets are on sale now for only $125 each, and provide priority seating before the general public on-sale which starts on September 3. Individual game tickets will go on sale in mid-October.

DIABATE TO COACH ALONGSIDE BILLS STAFF

Former Syracuse player and Syracuse Defensive Graduate Assistant Siriki Diabate will get some on the job training from an NFL staff this summer as a recipient of the Bill Walsh Minority Coaching Fellowship.

He joins his former coach, Doug Marrone, on the Buffalo Bills coaching staff for the teams training camp at St. John Fisher College in Pittsford, N.Y. Diabate will be working with the linebackers.

Diabate played two seasons with the Orange after transferring from Nassau C.C. He made 101 tackles, had 13.5 tackles for a loss, and served as team captain in 2012. That year, Syracuse’s defense ranked sixth nationally in tackles for loss per game.

HICKEY NAMED TO ACC PRESEASON TEAM

Syracuse senior offensive tackle Sean Hickey has been named to the ACC Preseason Team, the league announced Wednesday. Hickey is the only Orange player on the list that is dominated by Florida State, who has nine players on the team.

Hickey has started 26-straight games at tackle and earned 2013 All-ACC Honorable Mention.

Hickey has also been recognized and named to the Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List, Outland Trophy Preseason Watch List, and Bruce Feldman’s Best Freak at Every Position List.

The ACC Preseason Team was selected by media whom attended the ACC Football Kickoff in Greensboro, N.C. this past Sunday and Monday.
