If you go by National Championships or Final Fours, there is truly only one King of The Hill in Syracuse. That would be the Syracuse University men's lacrosse team. The undisputed king of king's on-campus have built on an undefeated preseason with a current record of 4-1. The lone loss was a double overtime, one goal loss to Albany in the season opener. Since then they have taken down a highly respected Army team, battled with St. John's in Pennsylvania (and won) and defeated two Top 10 ranked traditional foes; #6 Virginia in O.T. and #4 Johns Hopkins this past Saturday.
So why are they only ranked #11? Wishful dreaming by the rest of the NCAA? This is Syracuse so time to fess up and see the light voters, this team may not be winning by scores of 24-3, but they have taken down two of your Top-10's.
"Obviously, to have Hopkins come into the Carrier Dome rated where they were (in the polls), I think this win is going to do a lot for us going forward," SU head coach John Desko said. "I thought we were prepared and our guys knew what they had to do going into the game and it showed today on the scoreboard."
Next up for the Orange is a road tilt with Providence tomorrow night at 7PM. Check your local listings for radio and/or television and let's start paying some attention to the king again.
