The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team dropped in the polls as expected going from #1 in both polls to #4 AP/ #5 Coaches Poll after two losses last week to Boston College and Duke. The once undefeated Orange takes to the road and plays at Maryland tonight at 7 p.m. on ESPN or on the radio dial of TK99.

Syracuse looks to get the offense going and the rebounding ignited after what seems like a month on the edge and finally those two losses that cost the team the top ranking. Syracuse (25-2, 12-2 ACC) is 2-5 all-time against Maryland (15-12, 7-7 ACC). The Orange currently is looking up at:

AP Top-5:

Florida

Wichita St.

Arizona

Syracuse

Kansas

Coaches Poll Top-5:

Florida

Wichita St.

Arizona

Louisville

Syracuse

Coach Boeheim has been under media scrutiny all week for his reaction to a call at the end of the Duke game and has been blamed as costing the Orange the game with his ejection and ensuing foul shots and possession of the ball for Duke. Let’s be honest, after the call itself (offensive charge on a CJ Fair drive and score, bucket waved off) the game was over, period.

Maryland is looking to make some noise and get some quality wins before shipping off to the Big-10 next season. Syracuse looks to get back on track before a showdown next Saturday at Virgina who currently sits atop the ACC standings.
