Syracuse battles Wake Forest and remains undefeated, Ennis turns ankle

Everyone seemed convinced that this would be undefeated and 2nd-ranked Syracuse’s first defeat of the season. Wake Forest has a minor reputation as being giant slayers at home and they had not lost there yet this season. The commentary as the broadcast began was all focused on Wake; one wondered, at least up here just how these guys got jobs as broadcasters. Corey Alexander, former Virginia player, could not have flipped and flopped on himself anymore than he did as the game went on. Makes people miss Bill Rafferty.

Anyway, as the parade of fouls began and the volume was turned off to save one from laughing, Syracuse definitely had their hands full between a game, fired up Wake Forest team, ghost calls that seemed to happen on every possession, and missed calls galore. Horrible.

Through it all the Orange rose up and battled out a win, again. Not without some scare thrown into Orange Nation as fab frosh point guard Tyler Ennis twisted his ankle and writhed on the court near the end. While he did get up and finish he noticeably had a tweak to his movement afterward. We will see how he feels for the Duke game come Saturday.

Syracuse does need someone else to step up the scoring, Cooney remains in a long slump, and they need that outside shot come Saturday vs. the Dukies.
