Revealed today in an article by Marshall Sutcliffe on MagicTheGathering.com, Syndic Tithes comes down fast allowing you to begin extorting your opponents right away.
Syndic Tithes helps flesh out the Extort mana curve, followed by Basilica Guards, Crypt Ghast, Vizkopa Confessor, and Treasury Thrull.
If you haven't familiarized yourself with the new Extort mechanic, Syndic of Tithes is a fantastic example of how an "innocent" looking creature can make a large impact over the course of a long game. Suppose over the next five turns you use Syndic of Tithes to Extort. In a one on one match that's five life you'll gain and make your opponent loose. With multiple Extort creatures though, that life will quickly add up.
It's in Commander though where Syndic of Tithes truly shines: You'll be able to gain an ungodly amount of life with it.
How will you use Syndic of Tithes?
