This past week has been quite dazzling and fascinating with a personal VIP appearance by actor, Sylvestor Stallone at Provocateur for DuJour Magazine along with the Marvelous Wines launch event at Armani Ristorante.
Growing up in Southern California, a huge trend was the clever combination of shopping and dining under one roof. Many Los Angeles residents would frequent their favorite high-end department stores such as: Bullocks in the Wilshire Blvd. district or Robinson's in the San Fernando Valley spending the day finding the perfect outfit, then finishing the afternoon or evening with a sophisticated meal at one of these fine establishments, but over the years, this trend became something of the past and nothing more than a melancholy tinge of nostalgia for the fortunate ones able to experience this trend first-hand.
Here in NYC, the popularity of having a chic meal in their favorite designer's boutique seems to have built-up momentum. While many visit midtown to gaze at the beautifully appointed windows as well as pick-up the perfect accessory or gift for someone near and dear, the Armani Ristorante was one hot place to be for the exclusive launch of Marvelous Wines. South African winemaker, Adam Mason (of Mulderbosch Vineyards) has brought his glorious creation to the US market. In collaboration with Mason, Chef Peter Tempelhoff (one of the most renowned chefs also from South Africa) along with Charles Banks, also a passionate wine entrepreneur. Guests sampled the Marvelous roses, reds and white blends. Please visit: http://www.marvelouswines.com to learn more. On September 4th, another tasting, "From BBQ to Braai" will be taking place at Studio 450. Tickets are $35.00 and ticket sales benefit Edible Schoolyard NYC.
