Syfy sets 'Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome' premiere date

Syfy announced on Friday (Jan. 25) the premiere date for the two-hour TV movie "Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome."

The "Battlestar Galactica" prequel will make its television debut on Feb. 10 at 8/7 p.m. CT.

The network announced last March that they would not move forward with the pilot for a potential series. Instead, it premiered as a weekly web series on the Machinima Prime YouTube channel, drawing more than 8 million views.

The TV version will include additional scenes not featured in the online release, and will be available on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download starting on Feb. 19.

"Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome" follows a young William Adama (Luke Pasqualino) during the first Cylon war. Ben Cotton also stars as Coker, Adama's co-pilot on the Galactica.

The project was executive produced by "Battlestar" vets David Eick and Michael Taylor, who wrote the script, and directed by Jonas Pate ("Caprica").
