SyFy announces that 'Haven' will return for a fifth season with 26 episodes

SyFy announced on Jan. 28, that "Haven" would be renewed for a fifth season with an order of 26 episodes. SyFy plans on airing the first 13 episodes in the fall of 2014 and the second 13 episodes will air in 2015. The filming is set to begin this spring in Nova Scotia.

This is great news considering that the entire fourth season of "Haven" only had thirteen episodes total.

Season four of 'Haven" had an average of 2.3 million viewers, this is an increase of 3 percent and 11 percent in the 18-49 and 18-34 groups.

The show is loosely based on the novel by Stephen King titled, "The Colorado Kid" that was published in 2005. "Haven" was picked up as a show in 2010. It stars Emily Rose as Audrey Parker, Lucas Bryant as Nathan Wuornos and Eric Balfour as Duke Crocker.

The show airs on Friday evenings at 8:00 p.m..
