SXSW continues Thursday with a new focus: music. In what is considered one of the best shows that displays the musical talent of the up and coming bands as well as some of the current hits, the chance to hear bands after 5 is better than being hit by a meteorite in Austin.
SXSW Music is one of the largest music festivals in the United States, and according to Wikipedia, with more than 2,000 performers playing in more than 90 venues around downtown Austin over four days. Though it is an industry-based event, SXSW Music links locally with events such as the annual Austin Music Awards show and Heart of Texas Rock Fest.
Taking the stage around town the music is all about the moment that makes the sounds. Living the dream, musicians come from all over the country to find deals, make music and enjoy their time on stage in front of a new crowd who is definitely open to new music.
