SXSW 2013 opens with the reteaming of Jim Carrey and Steve Carell

The schedule for the South By Southwest (SXSW) festival was released today. The festival will open with The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. The film is the reteaming of comedic geniuses, Jim Carrey and Steve Carell. The comedic duo first crossed paths in the heavenly comedy Bruce Almighty and met again in the CG animated film, Horton Hears A Who! but now they play rival magicians. Carell and Steve Buscemi play Siegfried and Roy-esque magicians who are upstaged by Carrey’s David Blane-style antics. Now, in order to stay relevant, Carell must out match the Dumb and Dumber funnyman and rediscover his love for magic in the process in this comedic battle of the magicians.

The film itself opens nationally on March 15 but it’s set to make its world premiere at the SXSW 2013 film festival on March 8. Six other films including the highly anticipated remake of the horror classic, Evil Dead, will also make their debut during the festival, which runs from March 8-16 in Austin, Texas.
