Switchfoot will debut feature film, Fading West, everywhere on December 10

Announced today, December 3 from Fresh and Clean Media, the Grammy-award winning rock band, Switchfoot, are releasing their debut feature film, Fading West. The film will be available through all leading Video On Demand platforms in the U.S. on December 10. Additionally, the film will be available through iTunes, Amazon, Instant Video, Cable Movies on Demand, Google Play, Xbox Video, Sony Playstation, Cinemanow and Vudu through the digital entertainment curator, FilmBuff. Fans of Switchfoot can also request the film to be screened in movie theaters in markets around the country, with partnership from Gathr.

To gear up for the anticipation of the film's release, the band will be perform their hit single, "Who We Are," on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on the day the film is released, December 10. It's the first single from their upcoming 9th studio album of the same title as their film. Fading West, the album, will be released on January 14.

The members of Switchfoot were inspired by films like Rattle and Hum and Endless Summer to help prepare their vision for Fading West. The film follows Switchfoot while they travel the world, looking for new inspiration and ideas. The film is directed by Matt Katsolis and executive-produced by Greenlight Media and Marketing with Switchfoot. The film's footage comes from the band's 2012 world tour, and highlights some of the creation of their ninth album in its early stages. Also notable and a filled with visionary beauty, the film highlights surf leisure time in Australia, New Zealand, Africa and Bali. These surroundings encourage brothers Jon and Tim Foreman to focus on new lyrics in their songwriting, music inspiration from their nature and outdoor surroundings. The film is part rock documentary, part surf film, and part travelogue; and focuses on the band's love and passion of surfing, incomparable live shows, and their forging together as a band and friends.

Switchfoot spent most of the fall of 2013 on a 52-date tour around the country while previewing the film in the opening act, followed by their energetic live performance. These dates procured dozens of sold-out shows, including Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, San Diego, Denver, Portland, Phoenix. St. Louis and Atlanta. The shows received positive reviews from fans and fans alike. The band will be on the road again in early 2014 to promote the film and their new album. Dates are soon to be announced.
