On Jan. 14, 2014, this column reported that Christian rock band Switchfoot had released 'Fading West' that day. The day before, Jon Foreman, the band's lead singer, was injured in a surfing accident.

The band had to postpone postpone their hometown record release show originally scheduled as part of their Fading West Tour for Jan. 14 at the Cashbah in San Diego after Foreman was treated for an injury to his face during a morning surf session in Encinitas on the 13th. The performance was rescheduled for Feb. 3 with tickets honored for all current ticket holders.

While Foreman is expected to make a full recovery, he will be unable to perform for a few days. He was quoted by All Access as saying, "You travel all around the world making a movie and record built around surfing, and really push yourself to ride some really challenging waves. So it’s more than a bit ironic to get injured in your own backyard! Thankful that I’m okay – it could have been much worse."

"Fading West" holds the #1 spot on iTunes this week.
