On Wednesday, October 16 Wetpaint Entertainment reported that "Glee" actor Max Adler will be joining the cast of "Switched at Birth" in a recurring role. The actor will appear in multiple episodes of season three and will become friends with Bay Kennish (Vanessa Marano).
Adler will play the role of Tank, a fraternity brother at a local college who takes an art class. Bay will be in the class as well, and the pair will bond over their love of art. There is no word on whether the character will be a love interest or not. The actor is most known for playing the role of football player Dave Karofsky on "Glee," where his character was involved in a bullying turned friendship with the openly gay Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer).
The role is Adler's first steady television role since the singing series, although he did appear in the first episode of the quickly canceled ABC drama "Last Resort" before being killed off. The actor had most recently been completing independent film roles. "Switched at Birth" will return for its third season in January 2014 on ABC Family. Alder is the latest newcomer to be cast on the series, along with R.J. Mitte and Sandra Bernhard.
